Somerset House 'Cute' Exhibition
A major new exhibition in the heart of London that explores the irresistible force of cuteness in contemporary culture, or that's what they say.
We may think of the word 'cute' and think 'sweet and innocent.' In fact this exhibition is far from it with reviews such as:
"a thoughtful exploration of the cult and culture of cuteness" -The Guardian
"a must-visit for any adult child of the internet age, or indeed any parent of the internet age" -The Evening Standard
"a brilliant exploration of an all-consuming cultural phenomenon" -Time Out
With words such as 'cult and culture', cult being the operative word. Where does 'cult' fall in a 'cute' exhibition?
The proverbial silent indoctrination of the new normal; exposing our children to perversion, sex and seduction.
We live in an inverted world where rainbows make it okay to mutilate your body and identify as an onion if you so wish.
Let's face it, like an onion, there are many layers to this.
More than meets the eye.
It's hidden in plain sight. https://www.somersethouse.org.uk/whats-on/cute
